To be a pirate or garden help?

Mrs. Sumppi has been busy in the garden every day this week, and her daughter Linn has been happily helping. The son, Timmy, wasn't quite so enthusiastic at first, he was overheard complaining loudly, saying: "
I don't want to do the garden stuff, I want to do something FUN!!! I'm going to go be a PIRATE!!!! Yes, a great big bad pirate and everybody will be scared of me! That will be cool!"

Naturally, Mrs.Sumppi didn't agree with this at all, neither did Mr.Sumppi. In just a few hours pretty much everybody was talking about this, thinking of different ways to maybe help Timmy reconsider his choice of career...

Trumpetnose, the esteemed leader of Trolldom and a fine poet, also heard about it, and to his own surprise was inspired to write a little poem for Timmy:
DO NOT BECOME A PIRATE,
A PIRATE CAN BE SO IRATE,
AND A LIFESTYLE SO SECOND-RATE,
MIGHT NOT EVEN BE WORTH DEBATE.

GARDEN-WORK ON THE OTHER HAND,
IS SOMETHING ONE CAN UNDERSTAND.
AND IT CAN BE SUCH FUN,
TO DIG AND PLANT AND RAKE IN THE SUN!
YOUR MAMA WILL BE HAPPY, TOO,
TO HAVE THE HELP FROM YOU!

AFTERWARDS YOU CAN SIT IN THE SHADE
AND ENJOY A GLASS OF LEMONADE!
AND SEE THE PRETTY FLOWERS EVERYWHERE!
AREN'T YOU GLAD YOU DID YOUR SHARE?

We are happy to report that Timmy has decided to not become a pirate after all -it did seem a little bit too risky snd scary anyway, and he didn't really want to go so far away. And he knew that he would miss his sister and mom and dad, and his own bed and everything. And what if the pirates never had any cookies and lemonade?! That would be too horrible!
So all is well, Mrs. Sumppi's garden looks wonderful and Timmy will proudly point out to you all the spots where he did most of the digging, and all the flowers he himself planted.

We hope that you have a chance to enjoy the lovely spring weather and maybe even do some gardening if that's on your agenda. There has been talk about a big spring cleaning in Trolldom, tentatively scheduled for the weekend. The trolls do this almost every year and it always a fun event, even if it is a lot of work.

HAPPY SPRING EVERYONE - and don't forget to change your clocks on the weekend!

It's March already!

Hello Friends,
and greetings again from all of us here in Trolldom. Spring is definitely approaching, and it is evident in all the busy activity amongst the inhabitants of Trolldom.
Mrs. Sumppi has made several trips to the Garden Center and has come back with all kinds of plants and young trees and packets of seeds and the Sumppi children can hardly wait to start digging in the garden and helping plant all these additions that look so interesting.
Greennose has been tending to his projects at his greenhouse - he always starts a whole bunch of plants from seeds and he told me that this year he is going all out for Sweet Peas!
Trumpetnose has recovered along with his computer from the recent virus attack, but now he seems to be having trouble getting started on new poems or stories. It is always a painful and sometimes a very long process, but usually the end product is well worth the wait.

Lilli and Buster are planning some kind of surprise event this spring but there are no details yet. They are considering many different ideas - perhaps a party would be nice (Buster is always in favor of parties, especially if there are going to be cookies there), or maybe a camping trip, or a picnic.

Boxtroll has been talking about perhaps taking a short trip back to Boxplanet and Bugbear is hoping he could go along. Boxtroll has been working on his amazing spaceship, making sure that it is in perfect working condition and so on. We will keep you posted about this and will let you know what happens as it happens. If you want to see what Boxtroll's spaceship looks like, please visit our website and read the story about it by clicking HERE.

Thank you for reading our blog, we hope you enjoy getting to know us and finding out more about life in the FAUNI Trollworld.

Have a super-good day - and remember to keep those Fairy-tale Eyes and Ears open! You'll never know what you'll see when you do!
